Your tech can record a 3-8 minute guided walkthrough or join the Live Inspection Queue for real-time guidance from an Inspektr inspector.

Submit and track

Submitted inspections move to Under Review, and your tech sees the status change in the app. Live queue inspections are completed on the call instead.

The inspection steps below are the visible part of the process. Two stages come before them, and on most jobs they are where the time actually goes.

Permit prepared and filed

Documents checked for completeness, jurisdiction forms assembled, Notice of Commencement and product approvals where needed, filed within one business day with the F.S. 553.791(5) private provider notice.

B

Plan review

Inspektr performs the building code plan review in one to two business days. The jurisdiction then reviews forms and documents for completeness only, on a 10 business day statutory clock, or 5 for a single-trade review on a one or two family dwelling.

Rejections worked

If the jurisdiction returns comments, we prepare the correction and resubmit. Your office is not in the loop for it.

How it works: common questions

How does the Inspektr process work end to end?

Inspektr prepares and submits the permit within one business day, performs the building code plan review in one to two business days, and then performs the inspections virtually on demand. Inspection records go to the local building official within the 4 business days required by F.S. 553.791(14), and the certificate of occupancy runs on the statutory clock in F.S. 553.791(16).

Do I record the inspection or do it live?

Either. A technician can record a guided walkthrough for inspector review, or join the live inspection queue to complete the inspection in real time with an Inspektr inspector. Both satisfy the same statutory requirement; F.S. 553.791(9) provides that a private provider's inspection may be performed in person or virtually.

What if my technician will not use an app?

Send a guest link. It opens in a mobile browser with no install, which is the usual answer for subcontracted crews and for technicians who do not speak English comfortably.

What happens if a submission fails?

You receive specific correction notes, fix the item, re-record and resubmit. There is no re-inspection fee and no waiting for another county appointment.
